Allyson Felix
Allyson Melissa Felix was birthed at Los Angeles, California on the 18th of November, 1985. Paul Felix, her father was a pastor ordained of Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet school for children in the elementary grades. Felix displayed an early talent for athletics when she was studying at Los Angeles Baptist High School. She discovered her sprinting potential at the at the time. After just 10 weeks of her initial attempt, she placed second in the 200 meters race at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix signed a contract for a career in professional sports with Adidas in 2003, and then enrolled at University of Southern California to pursue a degree in elementary education. A year later Felix earned the first Olympic medal in the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens Greece setting the world junior record sprinting 200 meters at 22.18 seconds. In 2005, she was the youngest world champion of 200 meters at the Helsinki World Championships. She won the title again in 2007, beating her longtime Jamaican competitor Veronica Campbell. Felix was consistently at the top of the podium across her diverse races in the Olympics held at Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
