Mary McDonnell
Mary Eileen McDonnell, born April 28, 1952 is an American actress who appears on stage, TV, and film. She was awarded Academy Award nominations for her role as Stands With A Fist in Dances with Wolves and May-Alice Culhane in Passion Fish. McDonnell is known for her performances as President Laura Roslin in Battlestar Galactica and First Lady Marilyn Whitmore in Independence Day, and Rose in Donnie Darko. McDonnell played Captain Sharon Raydor on seasons 5-7 of TNT's series The Closer. She also was a part of Major Crimes, the spin-off series that airs on TNT's network, as the Commander Sharon Raydor.
